Well as many people know I have been involved in the Domino and Lotus Technologies for the last 15 years. I will always love to work with Domino however, the number of engagements that are prevalent in our organization, and the associated pre-sales activities are dwindling more and more. As of yesterday I have completed my first class on my trek towards Microsoft Exchange Certification and knowledge.

I completed the AP08 Microsoft Class Active Directory 2008 for Support Professionals. As Exchange is so tightly integrated with Active Directory, it was imperative to get an understanding of Active Directory first. Exam preparation material for Exchange is due today and tomorrow in the mail. Next is to prepare for Exam 70-640 Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring. Then on to Exchange Exams!

Cutting Over Today

Well that day has come. I’ve documented in the past that I have seen a number of organizations making the move from Domino over to Exchange. Well today I too am enduring that change. As we speak my mail box is being enabled on an Exchange server and I will be migrating my own data (as I do know how to do this) over to my Outlook mail. We are keeping Domino around as we still do some work with migrations to Domino and Domino Domain migrations too.

It is a little bit of a bittersweet situation but like all challenges in life, we should look forward to what is coming and not look back and long for the past.
